Our Story, Because We've Been There
Siesta Myo, founded in 2025, started because of Marissa's child having sleep disordered breathing (SDB). We did everything that was recommended: tonsils and adenoids removed, orthodontic expansion. Still, the underlying issue never actually resolved.
That search led Marissa to Myofunctional Therapy, where she realized she had her own Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs) to navigate, too.
Seeing how often the root cause gets missed, in her child and in herself, is what led her to found Siesta Myo, so other families can get to the real answer instead of just managing symptoms.
The name carries that same story. Siesta Myo is named for Siesta Key, the beach at the heart of our community, and siesta is Spanish for naptime, a fitting nod to sleep, the very thing that started it all

CRDH, OMTHi friends, I'm Marissa — an Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist, Certified Registered Dental Hygienist, and the founder of Siesta Myo.
My path into airway health became personal when I noticed signs of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) in my own child at just three years old. That experience led me into airway-focused dentistry and, eventually, myofunctional therapy — and showed me just how much of a need there is for this kind of care in our community. Since then, I've pursued extensive advanced training in myofunctional therapy, airway health, and orofacial myology, combining these disciplines to help my patients breathe easier and build a foundation for lasting oral and systemic health.
Outside the practice, I'm a wife and mom of three who loves Jesus, growing my plant collection and traveling to new places.
Hi! I’m Meghan Cerven, a pediatric speech-language pathologist and certified orofacial myofunctional therapist originally from New York. I specialize in articulation, pediatric feeding, oral-motor development, and pre- and post-frenectomy therapy. I have collaborated with highly skilled pediatric dentists outside of New York City to support children undergoing laser frenectomies and help them achieve improved speech, feeding, and overall oral function.
I’m passionate about creating meaningful connections with children and their families while making therapy engaging, supportive, and individualized. Outside of work, I love traveling, exploring new places, and spending time with the people who mean the most to me.
